International
Angel Day was coined by renowned author and spiritual psychologist Dr.
Doreen Virtue, Ph.D. in response to the fear and despair experienced by
the international community after the effects began in the effects of
September 11 in New York. The focus is to remind people that hope and
goodwill are still relevant and evident in our communities and events
which raise money for local children’s charities will be held simultaneously around the globe on the second weekend in September 2010.
International
Angel Day celebration will be held at the Tyabb Packinghouse Village,
on Sunday September 12, with funds raised going to our Peninsula
auxiliary branch of the Royal Children’s Hospital appropriately named
Charli’s Angels.
Naturally the focus of the day will be Angels and
raising awareness of their influence in our lives. Angels are
completely nondenominational. Every religion, Eastern and Western, has
the same archetype of benevolent guides in Heaven helping us, whether
they are called bodhisattvas, deities, divas, or angels. Angels are
something we all agree on. Nobody fights about angels.
The day’s
events will predominately focus on children and it will be a fun and
feel good day of entertainment and fundraising activities for the
entire family.
It aims to involve local schools, business owners
and the broader community to help create a positive atmosphere
celebrating the power of angels, the need for wellbeing and the good
work of the Royal Children’s Hospital volunteers.
Patrons of the day
will enjoy an over-themed ambience of Angels, activities, workshops,
food, fun and friends with experiences donations and entertainment.
We hope you can make it on the day... |
